CORE VALUES
VISION for TEACHERS
Teachers are an integral part of education. Relational capacity of teachers will dictate how hard students work to retain knowledge or to learn. It is important that we train teachers in how to develop positive relationships with students. (Capturing Kids Hearts) Teachers need to have high expectations of students and community so that students will not become complacent. Teachers should involve themselves in their professional organizations and should continue to be lifelong learners. I feel it is becoming increasingly important for me to find the right level of support for teachers. Professional development should be personalized and a strong focus on mentoring is vital for sustainability. I am also a strong advocate for creativity and through the idea of problem based learning call for this creativity to flourish.
Teachers should use many different ways of instructing students. Differentiated instruction should be the foundation of lessons in the classroom. Technology incorporation should also be part of creative lessons. Technology should be used to scaffold education by creating differentiated lessons to maintain students’ interest in the subject matter, to maintain the rigor of the subject matter, and to show the relevance of the subject matter to the students’ future. We ask that technology redefine the learning environment thus providing for a trans-disciplinary approach.
CORE VALUE: Supporting teachers as they meet high expectations for differentiated instruction, technology integration, and positive relationships with students and colleagues.
